*Catalogue number: Four proofs of the above image formerly appeared in this catalogue as entry #69, and were classified as hand-colored etchings from the collection of the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA). Subsequently they have been reclassified by BMA as hand-colored relief prints reproduced from a pen and ink drawing (also in the collection of the BMA) by means of an electrotype process. Therefore these works have been withdrawn from the catalogue raisonné proper of Fiene's prints, being photomechanical reproductions of a drawing and not original prints. Furthermore there is, until further notice, no longer an entry bearing the number "69" in the catalogue raisonné itself.
**Book Illustration: The image reproduced above appears on page 31 of Phaethon Son of Apollo, by Joseph Gavorse, illustrated with eleven "drawings" by Ernest Fiene and published by the Society of American Bibliophiles in 1932, in an edition of 300.

***Size and Color variations: BMA owns four versions of the hand-colored electrotyped reproduction, each measuring 7 5/8 x 5 3/4 in., each with a different color scheme. None of BMA's trial proofs, however, correspond in color or size to the published image (Fig. 1 above), which measures 8 1/8 x 6 1/8 in. BMA also has in its collection the original drawing (BMA # 1950.12.509), which measures 21 x 16 1/2 in. and is signed in pencil "Ernest Fiene, l.r.
